R and M Events presents their Summertime Earth Ball, a benefit for CREE, featuring live rock with Robustitron and The Resurrection Men, followed by dance grooves with DJ Nuyo. This promises to be a stellar evening of great music, dancing, and uh... spirits (aka, open bar!) -- all for a great cause. 100 % of the proceeds will go to the Center for Rural Empowerment and the Environment (CREE, conservationforpeople.org), a Sacramento-based nonprofit that helps communities in developing nations pursue locally-led, sustainable development projects while simultaneously fostering environmental preservation. They have active projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Guyana. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, your ticket purchase is tax deductible.
The extremely talented and extremely wacky duo Super Adventure Club is taking up residence in the Hotel Utah for every Saturday in February, and we're joining them on the 20th. If you've never seen them, we highly recommend doing so. Oh, and hey, we'll be on stage, too -- with 2 COVERS hidden in the set... see if you can spot them! Advance tickets available online. Oh yes, this event is legit! Totally high-budget promo video here.
Featuring a special opening acoustic set! For all you peninsula dwellers, Robustitron is coming right to the university campus for a Sunday evening MLK weekend coffeehouse show. The recently renovated Stanford CoHo serves up... uh... coffee, but also salads, sandwiches, paninis, desserts, and an awesome pulled pork sandwich.
Friday night. Time to party. Loudly. Robustitron teams up with reggae-dub act Temple of Roots and the experimental-hip-hop TripKnight at The Starry Plough. This Irish Revolutionary-rooted watering hole has been a staple on the Berkeley scene since before we were born. Old skool meets new sound. It's not an earthquake... it's the backbeat. Oh, and it's not beer... it's "ale."
Burn away your Sunday afternoon at this not-so-private private party, and check out other local bands playing in random rooms throughout the studio. Just come to the party and find us. Food and drinks and other stuff will likely be available, duuuuuude.
When Viet was going to Cal, he'd walk by or see shows at Blakes, thinking someday it'd be cool to play a show there. Now we're playing a show there! On the same stage formerly graced by the likes of Train, Cake, and Rancid. Start your weekend with us in this historic East Bay music venue as we rock out to celebrate... um, tax day?
Same songs, different groove. It's Robustitron, re-mixed. Toby leaves his massive drum kit at home, as Robustitron introduces it's DJ/lounge act. Dance, all thou extroverts! Head-bob, all thou introverts! And, of course, EAT, all thou ravenous youth! Chow down on whatever suits your fancy, or rather, your character: pizza, salad, mocha, or smoothie. (Oh, and in case you're wondering, that's Alex, Toby, Koko, and Viet, respectively.)
Time to show us some love in the Haight. We've put together three booty-shakin'-liscous bands for a night of pure fun. DJ Nasty Nate will be spinning some grooves in between sets. Easy Street 8:30, Robustitron 9:30, Bella Bella 10:30. It's across the street from Amoeba Records. You buy records, right?
